1800 Tequila Presents: 1800 Taste Tiendita – A Celebration of Mexican Culture
The world’s most awarded tequila brand, 1800 Tequila, proudly announces the return of its annual 1800 Taste Tiendita. This immersive pop-up experience celebrates the best in Mexican and Mexican-American culture, featuring music, fashion, art, food, and, of course, tequila. Now in its second year, the 1800 Taste Tiendita will tour nationwide throughout the summer, visiting cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, Miami, New York City, and San Francisco. Each event will showcase local emerging Mexican and Mexican-American artists and brands.
The Heartbeat of Mexican Culture
Tienditas, found on every street corner in Mexico, are bustling with energy, ranchera music, and authentic Mexican snacks, antiques, gifts, drinks, and daily essentials. They encapsulate the true spirit and taste of Mexico. The 1800 Taste Tiendita aims to bring this cultural icon to street corners across the United States, offering a taste of Mexico through tequila and life.
Kickoff in New York City
Timed perfectly for Cinco de Mayo, the tour will begin in New York City on Thursday, May 2, 2024. The evening will feature live performances by Girl Ultra, tiendita-inspired 1800 Tequila cocktails crafted in collaboration with Chicano bartender Michael Aredes, and popular Mexican dishes. DJ hellotones “el hijo de PueblaYork” will provide the music, while visual artist Melissa Santamaría will showcase a hand-painted mural. Creative Director & Stylist César Alvarez will curate fashion displays featuring brands like Montserrat Messeguer, de Maria, and Gypsy Sport.
Embracing Emerging Artists
“Let’s go 1800 Tequila and New York City! I’m excited to be headlining the 1800 Taste Tiendita, and we’re bringing the best taste in Mexican culture to our fans as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, from the music and art to the food and, of course, the tequila,” said Mexican R&B artist Girl Ultra.
Building on the brand’s annual 1800 Tequila Essential Artist Series, which features a limited-edition bottle collection designed in collaboration with emerging artists, the 1800 Taste Tiendita continues the brand’s tradition of supporting and amplifying new talent. Last year’s inaugural speakeasy-inspired event in Los Angeles saw partnerships with artists like Sofia Elias, Jazmin & Luis Garcia, Rick Montaño, Richie Velazquez, Sofia Enriquez, and Spanto from BornxRaised. This second iteration of the tour will expand on that success, featuring various integrations of Mexican and Mexican-American emerging artists through live music, bespoke cocktails, fashion displays, and artwork.
A Nationwide Celebration
Each city on the 1800 Taste Tiendita tour will offer unique experiences, ensuring that local artists and brands are prominently featured. The ever-evolving celebration will bring exclusive offerings to each location, highlighting the diverse and vibrant nature of Mexican culture. This professional campaign titled ‘Tiendita’ was published in the United States in May 2024 and was created by the ad agency 72andSunny. This experiential campaign is related to the Alcoholic Drinks industry and contains eight media assets.
