GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, proudly presents its inaugural animated masterpiece, “Bold Sees the Bigger Picture.” This captivating film draws inspiration from GIC’s commemorative book, “Bold Vision: The Untold Story of Singapore’s Reserves and its Sovereign Wealth Fund,” unfolding the rich history of managing Singapore’s reserves.
A Visual Symphony: André Wee’s Original Illustrations
At the heart of this cinematic journey are the original illustrations by the talented Singaporean artist, André Wee. These visuals breathe life into the narrative, offering a visually stunning depiction of Singapore’s financial evolution from its early years to the establishment of GIC.
Harmony in Diversity: The Purple Symphony Soundtrack
What elevates this animated experience is the original soundtrack, a melodic creation by MassiveMusic. However, what makes it truly extraordinary is that this symphony was performed by The Purple Symphony (TPS), Singapore’s first and largest inclusive orchestra. Comprising individuals both with and without disabilities, TPS has been a GIC community partner since 2016.
A 10-Month Overture: From Script to Screen
The making of “Bold Sees the Bigger Picture” was a meticulous 10-month process, weaving through the intricacies of scriptwriting, storyboarding, production, rehearsals, recording sessions, and the final rendering. The result is a seamless blend of history, art, and music, a testament to GIC’s commitment to delivering a captivating and immersive experience.

The culmination of this creative endeavor is showcased in the professional campaign titled ‘GIC – Made of Bold,’ a tribute to Singapore’s financial resilience and the bold visionaries who have shaped its economic landscape. Launched in November 2023, this campaign unfolds across Content, Design, and Film media, comprising four media assets that encapsulate the essence of GIC’s legacy.
In collaboration with the creative prowess of Forsman & Bodenfors, GIC invites audiences to embark on an epic visual and auditory journey. “Bold Sees the Bigger Picture” stands not only as an animated film but as a testament to the bold spirit that defines GIC, an institution made of resilience, vision, and an unwavering commitment to Singapore’s financial future.
