In February, the Techo Association, in partnership with Google, unveiled a groundbreaking project called “Address The Invisible, powered by Google.” This initiative addresses a significant issue faced by forgotten families in Mexico who lack decent housing and even a formal address. These communities often lack basic services and are unrecognized by the government.
Techo, a renowned association across Latin America for its work in building houses in informal settlements, teamed up with Google to use their geolocation technology called Plus Codes. Through this collaboration, Techo provided these communities with an official address for the first time, putting them on the map and enabling them to complete essential tasks such as obtaining official identification, receiving mail, and accessing emergency services.
The project has already made a significant impact, supporting hundreds of communities and thousands of families. With the potential for scalability, Techo, together with the government and Google, aims to expand this project to reach even more people throughout Mexico, Latin America, and beyond.
The initiative was developed in collaboration with the independent agency Archer Troy, known for its commitment to creating campaigns with positive social impact. Archer Troy worked closely with volunteers and communities to provide essential resources like shelter and addresses, aiming to transform lives and inspire change.
At Archer Troy, we take pride in our partnership with these esteemed allies, leveraging creativity to serve the community and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
“Address The Invisible, powered by Google,” sheds light on communities that were previously overlooked, bringing visibility to their needs and challenges. Through this initiative, Techo, Google, and Archer Troy are committed to making a positive impact and creating a more inclusive society for all.
