Created by the innovative minds at LePub Amsterdam and executed by Ambassadors Amsterdam, the campaign featured a compelling 20-second hero film. This film, along with shorter versions, highlighted the issue of waste by showcasing discarded gifts that ended up in landfills, bringing them back to cities in a dramatic and memorable way.
Immersive Experiences to Drive Change
A key part of the campaign was an engaging augmented reality (AR) activation in Berlin. For a week starting on Earth Day, passers-by near the Berlin TV tower could scan a QR code to see a virtual mountain of discarded gifts, symbolizing the volume of waste generated each year. This immersive experience aimed to shock viewers into rethinking their purchasing habits. Users were then directed to the Philips e-commerce store to learn more about the program and purchase Philips Refurb Editions.

In 2023, the Philips Personal Health refurbishment program successfully reused 6.7 tonnes of materials from suitable returned products. Over 13,000 refurbished personal health products found new homes, contributing to a more sustainable future.
