In a world filled with noise, it’s often the silence that speaks the loudest. That’s the driving force behind WAPA’s groundbreaking campaign, “Silence to make noise.”
Imagine this: thousands of child soldiers lose their lives each year in utter silence, their stories going unheard and unnoticed. Determined to change this, WAPA embarked on a mission to amplify their voices and bring attention to their plight. Thus, the CHUT (Shhh) music project was born.
CHUT isn’t just an album; it’s a tribute, a call to action, and a symbol of solidarity. Featuring 10 renowned artists including Puggy, Colt, Ozark Henry, and Témé Tan, CHUT delivers 10 one-minute tracks of silence, each representing a child soldier lost in anonymity. But silence doesn’t mean nothingness. Each artist adds their own interpretation to these 60 seconds, infusing them with emotion and meaning.
The CHUT collector’s vinyl album, Spotify playlist, radio broadcasts, and social media platforms serve as platforms for these powerful moments of silence to be heard. Released on International Child Soldiers’ Day, CHUT aims to break the silence surrounding this global issue and spark meaningful conversations about the need for action.
But the campaign doesn’t stop there. WAPA is calling on the Belgian community to join the movement by streaming and sharing CHUT, spreading awareness of the cause far and wide. Individuals are also encouraged to create and share their own minute of silence videos on social media, using the hashtag #chutforwapa.
This isn’t just about making noise; it’s about making a difference. Through the “Silence to make noise” campaign, WAPA and its collaborators are shining a spotlight on the issue of child soldiers and advocating for change. Together, let’s turn silence into a powerful force for good. Join the movement and be a part of something truly impactful.
